CWS/CMS Bulletin - R6.4.3 Interim Release Bulletin

Date: 2/18/2011
Title: R6.4.3 Interim Release Bulletin
What is Impacted: The CWS/CMS Application
Describe Impact:

On Wednesday, March 2, 2011, Interim Release 6.4.3 deployment package will be delivered to the CWS/CMS Application.  This deployment package contains twenty three (23) Help Desk (DPU) tickets, twenty four (24) Internal Testing (PTS) issues, and two (2) System Change Requests (SCR).

The DPUs, PTSs and SCRs addressed in this Interim Release are described in detail in the R6.4.3 Excel Spreadsheet located on the CWS/CMS Website under Releases>Current Releases>Interim Release 6.4.3.

With this release, a 15 minute workstation lock policy will be pushed to all workstations in Dedicated Counties. Workstations will now time out after being idle for 15 minutes, forcing the user to log back in. This adds an extra level of security to the desktop which is required for devices managed by the Office of Systems Integration (OSI).

CWS/CMS Users please note:

  • It is strongly recommended that the user log off the application each night to insure that they are working with the latest version of the application. The release will be delivered to the workstation when the user logs on and does not require any further action to be taken. The user is not required to restart their workstation.
  • It is recommended that the install of Interim Release 6.4.3 occur via the office network, as opposed to a remote connection.
  • The following step can be taken to check that the Interim Release has been delivered to the workstation.
    • From the Control Panel in CWS/CMS, click on Help > About. The version will be 6.4.3.
  • Users that are logged onto the system when the release arrives will not be using the new code at their workstation until the next time they log on.
  • Unlike major releases, Interim Release 6.4.3 release will NOT be using a full installation package and there is no outage.
